Well, I don't really care about losing my 'network' here -- LJ is the way I really keep in touch with the people I care about. Although I reply to the comments I get here on dA and look at a few people's art, I actually don't like the site that much.

I did consider moving everything from one of the accounts into the other, but then I didn't like how everything would be out of order, so I just made a whole new account.

That's why I consider moving photos to my main account or only start adding new here since now, but I am not sure.

Anyway making a new account each time cuts down your exposure - or audience, how to call it. By being at dA and commenting/faving others you gather it. Each time you make a new gallery you cut it down. I expect you loose a part of network each time you abandon a gallery. All depends what do you want from this place, but IMO it's better to stay at one account and keep building it's network than changing it again. Especially if you are looking for feedback, not just a place to store images.
Situation is different if for some reason you don't want to use old account / screen name anymore, but you say it wasn't a reason.
